This last weekend, a bunch of my friends and I went camping at Lava Lake in the Cascade Mountains. The stars were shining so bright from our campsight that the next night we went to the lake at around midnight while I snapped this long exposure of the stars. Here’s the fun result! Enjoy!

Well, admittedly, I have slacked a bit on blogging my latest projects. I apologize to all my readers who have sat on the edges of their seats ( I know you must be out there, somewhere ). To ring in the New Year, I have decided to be a more diligent “Blogger” and hopefully be a resource for those looking to hire an experienced professional photographer.
In a world where buying a digital camera *allows* (and I use that word lightly) one to claim to be a professional photographer, as a client, being aware of the quality you are looking for and the final result you wish to attain is key. Hopefully, by posting some images and resources, this blog will be an important guide in helping make that (somewhat difficult) choice in choosing the right photographer and make your business, inevitably, look better, with an end goal of reaching your target clients a bit easier for you.
To end this post, I wanted to post two images from a recent architectural photo shoot for one of my very favorite clients, Kirsti Wolfe Designs at a residence in Pronghorn, Bend, Oregon. She wanted the images to showcase the beautiful structural and interior design of the kitchen, including her custom designed Sub Zero refrigerator. Absolutely Remarkable!
Recently, I was hired by Scott Gilbride Architecture and Kirsti Wolfe Designs to photograph a beautiful home in Pronghorn Bend, Oregon that they recently completed. Down to every detail, the home was beautifully designed, built, and finished. Here are some of the final images.

As a professional photographer, keeping my creative juices flowing is a constant necessity AND a beautiful privilege. While in India, I feel like a kid in a candy shop, constantly over stimulated by the barrage of colors and textures and cultural nuances. While I generally have my trusty Nikons with me, I have really been enjoying keeping my creative brain waves active by just snapping imagery of everyday life using my good ole iphone.

If you’ve been a photographer for more than a day, you have most likely loaded a roll of 35mm Kodachrome film. It was the film I learned on. The film I learned to see light through, learned my limitations with, and the film I waited excitedly for to be processed at the lab. Yes, actually waiting to see your imagery with anticipation, eagerness, and always a bit of nervousness to see the results.
In this beautiful tribute to film photography and Kodak specifically, legendary documentary travel photographer, Steve McCurry, ventures out to literally capture the last roll of film produced by Kodak. It’s moving and humbling to be apart of this industry, seeing it’s movement and progression, and sometimes, digressions. Steve’s passion and imagery have inspired me immensely… to go the extra mile to get the perfect shot, to really see your subject and capture an image with heart, not just document the scene around you. I hope you enjoy this short film, giving appreciation to the end of a beautiful era.
